#273｜東京都MTさん (20代女性) SME 12週間

Hello my name is Miki Nishihara and I am Japanese. I have already graduated from university in Japan, I was an English communication major, but I really wanted to learn English after university, so I determined to go to the Philippines. The reason why I chose the Philippines is that it is very cheap. For example school fees, foods, travel expenses and clothes; everything is cheap compared to other country. That’s why I am in Cebu now. 

I have been here in Cebu for 4months and I had been studying at SME academy for 3months but when I came here first I felt that I really wanted to go back to Japan because of I was home sick and Cebu is a different environment for me but just a month. After a month, I already adopted Philippine’s life and via SME I could meet many good Korean friends and wonderful teachers.

All teachers are very friendly and very kind. I learned many things from my teachers.

Every time my teachers prepared some material for studying English so that we could learn our lesson easily. I really enjoyed attending each class. They are teacher for me but also they are my good friends. We sometimes went out together and drank that was really nice. I could study in English not only in the class room. We were sharing own costumes and thinking through our conversation.

In additional as you know Cebu has a rich natural environment especially, if you go to the island you would be surprised by the beautiful beaches and the wonder of nature. There are many islands around Cebu. I visited some islands with my friends and I made precious memories with my friends so I think you can get not only English skills in here but also you can enjoy in Cebu life very much.

Now I really think that I am very happy because I met many people in Cebu who were very beneficial for my future and I have made many experiences since I came here. I have never regretted about I came here and I studied English in Cebu.



セブの生活も早いもので、４ヶ月が経ちました。私は、日本の大学を卒業したのですが、どうしても海外で英語を勉強したいという夢をあきらめきれず、セブへの語学留学を決めました。ここに来た当初は、ホームシックにかかったり、環境の大きな変化に対応できず、恥ずかしいのですが、涙を流したこともありました。（笑）正直、日本に帰りたい！と何度も感じました。しかし、時が過ぎるごとにここでの生活にもなれてきて今は、日本に帰りたくない気持ちでいっぱいです（●＾o＾●）

 ＳＭＥには３ヵ月通いました。フィリピンを語学留学の目的で選んだ理由としては、まずアメリカやカナダ、オーストラリアと比べて物価や授業代などが安かったからです。あと、フィリピンにしかない１対１の授業スタイルにも魅力を感じたからです。

先生は、とてもフレンドリー＆親切で毎日楽しく、授業に参加していました。私の担当の先生は、授業に私が飽きないように、勉強の準備がしっかりされていて毎回充実した授業を受けることができました。授業外では、一緒に出かけたりと先生であると同時によき友達でもありました。教室の中だけではなく日常会話を通して、英語を学んだのも事実です。

ＳＭＥを通して、たくさんの先生に出会えたのももちろんですが、たくさんの素敵な友達に出会えたのも事実です!(^^)!　毎日、「勉強」というわけでなく、もちろん遊びにも力を入れました（笑）週末にちょっと、近くの島へ…という感じで本当にセブでの暮らしを楽しみました。ここで韓国の友達と作った思い出は、一生忘れない思い出となることは、間違いないです！！

しかし、ここにきて全部が、全部いいことだけではありません。韓国人の多さにビックリしてまるで、韓国語を習いに来たような錯覚をおこしてしまったり（笑）食習慣の違いで悩んだり…フィリピン人の英語に疑問を感じたり…といろいろ悩んだりした時期もありましたが、どんな時も自分が誰であるのか、自分の目的は何か、という強い自分の意思をしっかり持つことが大切！ということを１番に学んだような気がします。

ここにきて、英語だけでなく人間関係を通して学んだことは、これからの私の将来への指針になると実感しています。

今は、ＳＭＥを卒業してセブの大学へ通う計画を立てています。まだまだ、学ぶことが沢山でゴールは見えませんが、セブを選んだことは、正解！！と自分の行動に後悔はしていません。どんな時も、強い自分の意思をもって自分の夢に向かってどんどん突っ走っていきます！
