Big Leap in Learning English By: MAYA Summer 2010, I decided to learn more of the English language in the Philippines (PH). This is my first time to go abroad to study. I had two feelings, excited and scared. Before I came to the PH, I didn’t have any ideas about the country, its culture and people’s character and ways of living. I met new friends, both young and old, teachers and student. My parents understood why I want to go to the PH. They were supportive about my endeavor. Before, I had a teacher in high school, he is an American young man. Though I was not good at English、 because of that I couldn’t express myself very well. He always encouraged me to speak the language. Since then, my preferred language is English with the American accent. I am at the stage of my life where I am hungry for information, and I don’t want to stop learning. I am taking my plans forward by trying to get the best Education in the English language, thus , I came to Clark Institute of the Philippines (CIP). During my stay here in the PH at CIP, I had the opportunity to meet a lot of people, friends, teachers, and they are very kind and encouraging. In here, I’ve learned a lot of things from them, and we talked about each other’s countries, love and many more. But we came here to learn English, so we supported each other every time. In the morning and evening, I attend optional classes, and I always practice speaking English in the campus, and of course I attended the class on time. In CIP was great, it changed me. I learned better English, how to speak especially teachers gave me a chance to correct my pronunciation. My vocabulary is wider now. When I could use those words in conversation with teachers or friends, I felt really happy, and I knew my improvement. It is a big world, I want to visit places, meet foreign people, share ideas with them, and I know English language can help me do all this.  2010夏、私はフィリピンで英語を勉強することに決めました。 これは私にとって初めての海外留学でした。 この時私には楽しみという気持ちと怖いという気持ちがありました。 フィリピンに来る前、フィリピンの文化や人々の人柄や生活様式について何も 知りませんでした。 私は先生や学生など幅広い年齢層の新しい友達と出会いました。 私の両親は私がフィリピンに来たかった理由を理解してくれました。 私の両親は私の努力をサポートしてくれました。 私の高校時代の先生は若いアメリカ人でした。 私の言いたい事を上手く表現出来なかったので英語が得意ではありませんでした。 彼はいつも私に英語を話すよう励ましてくれました。 その時から私はアメリカンアクセントの英語が好きになりました。 私の生活において英語を学ぶ事を止めたくなくなりました。 私は質の良い英語を学びたかったので、CIPに来ました。 私がCIPに来てから多くの友達や先生に出会いました。 そして彼らはとても優しく、励ましてくれます。 CIPでは多くの事を学びました。 私たちはそれぞれの国について色々話していました。 でも私たちはここに英語を勉強しに来たのでお互いにいつも支えあっていました。 朝と夕方の無料の授業に参加していました。 そしていつもキャンパス内では英語を話す練習をしていました。 CIPはとても良い所です。 先生達は特に私に正しい発音を教えてくれました。 単語力も上がりましたし、先生や友達と会話をしていると自分の英語力が 上がった事を感じる事ができうれしく感じました。 私は英語が話せれば世界中の色々な場所を訪れて、多くの外国人から色々な考えを 知ることが出来ると思います。 |
